About the Book:
When Jesus Was a Green-Eyed Brunette weaves heartwarming and miraculous stories of Jesus showing up in ordinary people, revealing that He knows us and is fully present in our everyday circumstances, especially in our difficulties. Those hurting and weary from worn-out religion are longing for a fresh touch from the living Jesus.
Best-selling author Max Davis challenges us to do more than simply receive God’s grace—we need to allow grace to soften, change, and shape us. As you read this book you will laugh, cry, and come face-to- face with the living Jesus, much like Davis did, when he found Him living in a green-eyed brunette. As Davis puts it, “Jesus is very much alive today and still does incredible things—sometimes supernatural things—through us!”

My thoughts: This book took me by surprise. I wasn't sure what to expect based off of the title but let me tell you this book is great. It was a reminder to me that we can see Jesus in everyday people. God uses the broken, the ordinary and takes them and does extravagant things. Throughtout the book Davis talks about his experiences at first he meets a girl on the coffee aisle and notices what he thinks are burn marks on her. After talking to her, he finds out they are not but does see that she is full of God's love. So often we are focused on what people look like, what they are wearing that we choose not to see how they are acting and if they are representing Jesus. This book also taught me that sometimes people show up in your life for specific reasons and than we may never hear from them again. When I was going through my divorce, I met many people that helped me get through what I thought were hard times. Eventually, things got better for me and those people and I drifted apart. I also love that Davis used stories from his own personal experiences. This book will be sure to inspire you and to make you think.
